A receiver converts
the satellite signal from the dish to your TV and also enables
you to interact with your TV, for example, order pay per view
and with the DIRECTV® DVR you can record and pause live TV,
view the programming guide. It is a required piece of equipment
to view satellite TV. There are three kinds of receivers; Standard,
DVR, and High-Definition.
